Concrete Calculator
Estimate the volume of concrete needed for slabs, pads, or footings in cubic yards, cubic meters, and bags.
How to Estimate Concrete Volume
Calculating the right amount of concrete for slabs, patios, footings, or pathways helps prevent costly material shortages or wasteful over-ordering. By multiplying the length, width, and thickness of your project area, you can determine exact cubic measurements and bag counts.
Understanding Bag Yields
- 80 lb Bags: Typically yield approximately 0.60 cubic feet of mixed concrete.
- 60 lb Bags: Typically yield approximately 0.45 cubic feet of mixed concrete.
- Cubic Yards: The standard unit used when ordering ready-mix truck deliveries (1 cubic yard equals 27 cubic feet).
Tips for Pouring Concrete
It is usually recommended to add a 5% to 10% waste factor to your final calculation to account for uneven sub-grades, spills, or form adjustments during your pour.
