Estimate your body fat percentage using the U.S. Navy circumference method.
What is the U.S. Navy Body Fat Method?
The U.S. Navy body fat formula is a widely accepted standard that estimates body fat percentage using simple circumference measurements. Unlike standard bathroom scales or BMI tools which can misclassify muscular or tall individuals, this method provides a much closer estimation of your true body composition.
How to Measure Correctly
- Height: Measure vertically without shoes while standing straight.
- Neck: Measure just below the larynx (Adam's apple) for men, or below the larynx with a slight downward slope for women.
- Waist: Measured horizontally at navel level for men, or at the narrowest point of the abdomen for women.
- Hip (Women): Measure horizontally at the widest part of the hips or buttocks.
